	Family Services of McDowell County is the county's only refuge for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault


Our Mission is to provide aid to victims of physical, emotional, and sexual violence in families and relationships. We accomplish this by:
		providing sanctuary
		providing programs that promote prevention, healing, and empowerment
		community education
		forming partnerships with related agencies and local citizens who support the reduction of abuse and violence


Our client services focus on crisis intervention, education, prevention, and also include:
		24 hour crisis line
		Emergency shelter
		Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault weekly support group
		Assistance filing restraining orders (50-B)
		Court Advocacy
		Case Management
		Counseling Services and referrals
		Community Education and Prevention programs
		Legal referrals
		Food boxes
		Highly trained, caring staff
